intensive purposes

Someone at work pointed out that the phrase is "..for all intents and purposes." Not only do I say, "intensive purposes" but that's how I use it as well.

It's not as if I were caught using the phrase. Someone just mentioned the fact that it's a commonly misused phrase and I'm not too proud to admit that I've used it incorrectly. And the person that made the observation is from New York; he's the other transplant from the East Coast.

you know, if I ever up and move to a new part of the country I don't think I'd refer to myself as a "transplant" when I think transplant I think internal organs, like hearts and kindeys. I'd much prefer "world traveller" or "one with all locales"

I totally feel you on this one Donny, I learned only a few years ago that it wasn't "all intensive purposes." I now know the correct phrase, but continue to say the incorrect one. Old habits die hard? Sort of like Adina and her jeans that she wore so much they basically had no crotch. Then Tyler tried to make them jean shorts, but accidentally cut out what was remaining of it, and then they had NO crotch, and were more of a skirt/belt. Yeah, sort of like that I guess.

i am calling you on that one charley.

those jeans tyler cut into mini jean skirt/belt were just a random pair of jeans from freshman year. i think they were super heavy and ugly and light blue.

the jeans with no crotch (i seriously still think about them i miss them so much!) were the ones i wore to Purgatory Chasm, sort of stretchy tight and dark blue. I later tried to fix them by sewing fabric into the crotch, but the fabric was bright multicolored and bumpy so it ended up bothering my crotch. my mom eventually threw them out, along with the shorts with no butt.

this was meant to be a "take that charley!" but all it did was make me realize that i have issues with letting things go.
